Band Requirements

Band Requirements

Whilst our needs are not exhaustive, we find it often helps to highlight some considerations in advance of the engagement.

Provision of the items listed below will help things go more smoothly on the day, allowing us to concentrate on giving you our best possible performance.

If there is anything you feel you may not be able to provide, please can you let us know as soon as possible.

Thank you.

In advance

Grand Central members all use satellite navigation to help ensure we arrive in plenty of time. However, in some cases, where a venue is particularly remote, a detailed map of its location or a website address where a map and directions can be found would be most helpful.

On the day

We will need adequate parking for five cars. Ideally in close proximity to the entrance we will be using. We ask that you please let us know in advance if there is no freely available parking at the venue.

Clear access to the performance area via the nearest available entrance enables us to unload quickly and safely.

A level performance area of approximately 10ft deep x 15ft wide is usually sufficient. We have managed to play in smaller spaces in the past, but it can take a little longer to set up in these circumstances.

We will need at least two ordinary domestic 13 amp sockets to power our equipment. These should be within easy reach of the performance area. We always carry a number of mains extension leads so there is a certain amount of flexibility regarding their location.

Prior to our performance we will need to change into our stage clothes. We will need access to a secure changing and relaxation room large enough for 5 people to relax in comfort. It would be most helpful if there was also a mirror. We do understand that such facilities are not always available, but would ask that some provision is made in this regard.

To give you the best possible performance we will need to be supplied with a hot meal for each band member (5) at least an hour before we go on stage. Usually we will have already been at the event for a minimum of 3 hours before we go on stage. Add that to the remainder of the evening, travelling time and de-rig time the average day can be up to 12 hours. Sandwiches or buffet will not be sufficient. Soft drinks and a hot meal are a standard part of all professional event band contracts.
